Los Altos Mountain View PTA Council Goals

• To unify and strengthen the Los Altos-Mountain View Council Units through counseling and encouragement, providing opportunities for leadership training and facilitating the exchange of ideas and experiences for the enhancement of all member school communities.
• Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: email communications on issues, best practice sharing with presidents, mentoring and informational forums, Annual Luncheon and Honorary Service Awards.
• To develop and coordinate unit and council projects and activities in the interest of children and youth.
• Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: Toy and Food Drive, Egan Scholarships, parent education events, membership, and initiatives to promote literacy and healthy lifestyles.
• To build and maintain awareness of community resources available to benefit all youth.
• Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: hosting guest speakers from community organizations, and developing associations with child advocacy agencies.
• To facilitate communication among all PTA entities and ensure all units remain in good standing with the State and National PTA.
• Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: passing on National, State, District and Council information in a useable format, collecting all financial obligations and forwarding them to the appropriate level, maintaining a Council website, soliciting support and information for units, hosting monthly PTA President meetings, and participating with units to ensure their success.
• To influence public opinion and advocate for the benefit of children, youth and families.
• Activities supporting the achievement of this goal include but are not limited to: providing legislation education and opportunities for advocacy, and fostering positive public relations.
